Visa regulation during Covid-19 Situation

Non Thai Citizens who are eligible to enter Thailand During the COVID-19 situation

You must be one of these categories.

1.1 Work permit holder in Thailand. Click here.

1.2 Non-immigrant type O
     1.2.1 Non-immigrant type O Family --- you need to be related as a legal family member of a Thai national(s), or have a permanent residency in Thailand. For Residency Right. Click here.

     1.2.2 Non-immigrant type O Retired --- you need to be retired and receive a pension from the government. 

1.3 Non-immigrant type O-A --- you need to be over 50 years old and eligible to apply for the visa. Apart from your normal O-A health insurance, you also have to acquire the Covid treatment insurance with the minimum coverage of 100,000 USD. Click here.

1.4 Non-immigrant type O-X --- This is for an expert in various field. Please see your eligibility in Royal Thai Embassy’s website.

1.5 Diplomats and international organization staff and their family members --- you need to have your embassy or organisation in Thailand contact MFA for CoE procedure and Quarantine process. Then submit all related documents to the RTE at least 28 days in advance for CoE approval and related visa issuance.

1.6 People who are invited to work or go to Thailand by Thai governmental agencies --- the inviting agency in Thailand will contact MFA for CoE and related visa approval. Then the MFA will notify RTE.

1.7 Elite Card member --- the Royal Thai Embassy has to be informed by the Ministry of Affairs and Ministry of Tourism or Tourism Authority of Thailand both of Visa and COE.  

1.8 APEC Card holder --- you have to be a Swedish or Latvian citizen and travel to Thailand from your respective citizenship country.

1.12 Non-Immigrant B --- No work permit / Investment Condominium. In additional of the normal Non-B visa requirements, you need to have at least 155,000 SEK deposited in your local bank account in the last six months. And the inviting companies in Thailand has to have the company establishment fund of at least 2,000,000 Baht. New visa requirement during Covid-19. See below.

To enter Thailand, in any categories as above also apply for the Certificate of Entry (COE). Remark:  At present, Sweden/Latvia are in the list of COVID-19 low risk countries The Covid-19 risk level of each country will be updated every 1 and 15 date of each month by Thai government.

Special Tourist Visa (STV)

STV Visa is valid 90 days from the date of issuance and a permit to stay in Thailand for 90 days by starting from the arrival date. This permit of stay can be extended 2 times (90 days each time). 

Required Documents for STV 

  1. An original passport must be valid, not less than 12 months of the day of your travel to Thailand, with one (1) copy
    2. A visa application form (click here to download)
    3. A recent passport-sized photographs taken within the past 6 months
    4. An original medical certificate from a licenced doctor. (Click here to download) The certificate must not be valid for more than 3 months.
    5. An original of criminal record The certificate must be valid, not less than 3 months.
    6. A copy of valid health insurance certificate from Thai insurance company; https://longstay.tgia.org/ with indicating that:
        6.1 cover the whole period of stay in Thailand
        6.2 have medical benefit in Thailand for outpatient must not be less than 40,000 Baht
        6.3 have medical benefit in Thailand for inpatient must not be less than 400,000 Baht.
    7. Accommodation (**after 14 days Alternative State quarantine ASQ**) :
        7.1 In case the applicant or family (proof of spouse/children) member owns a condominium, please submit :

    - a copy of the confirmation of applicant/family member’s property ownership OR

    - proof of payments for purchasing/leasing of a condominium unit at least 2 instalments OR

    7.2 In case the applicant does not own a condominium in Thailand, by staying in a hotel, or a rental condominium/ house please submit a copy of full payment of booking/rental confirmation directly from the hotel with whole the period of staying in Thailand.

  1. Marriage certificate and birth certificate is required when travelling with your spouse and children under 20 years old.

VISA FEE

  • 700 SEK for single entry
  • Visa fee paid in CASH ONLY when submitting the application.
  • Visa fee may be changed without prior notice

Note

  • The Embassy does not provide a copy or printing service.
  • The Embassy will REJECT your visa application if your document above is not completed.
  • Do not apply for a visa earlier than 3 months before your arrival date to Thailand.
  • The Embassy will not return the fee paid for visa application in case the applicants apply for the visa too early than 3 months so that the applicants MUST check the period of stay and arrival date to Thailand by yourself carefully.
  • PROCESSING TIME (with completed documents)
    In-person or by a representative: 7 business days Collection date for the visa is specified on a payment receipt. Always bring the receipt when collecting a visa.
  • Consular officers reserve the right to request additional documents, or an interview with the applicant, as deemed necessary, without prior notice.
  • The Royal Thai Embassy reserves the right to refuse a visa to an applicant with insufficient documents or if the reasons are given are not fully supported. The visa fee is non-refundable. 

Non Immigrant-B Visa without Work Permit

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  1. In case conducting busines / meeting business partner
  • Application form (click here to download)
  • Original passport
  • Copy of passport (the page with your information)
  • Two photographs
  • An original letter from the applicant's current employer which indicating the applicant's position, length of employment, salary, purpose of visit to Thailand, name of the company/organization in Thailand that the applicant is going to conduct business with (in case of applying for multiple entries, please state clearly that reason of requesting a multiple entries visa or writing a trip plan for multiple entries within one year)
  • A copy of a Business Registration from the current employer. (F- skatt sedel) not older than 6 months and up to one year)
  • letter of invitation from trading or associated partners/companies in Thailand.
  • A copy of a Business Registration and a Business License of trading or associated partners/companies in Thailand (not older than 6 months) and paid-up registered capital not less than 2 million Baht
  • Bank Statement of the applicant showing in 6 months not less than 500,000 baht (Approx. 155,000 SEK)
  1. In case of investment of Condominium or invest the government bond

  • Two photographs
  • An original letter from the applicant's current employer which indicating the applicant's position, length of employment, salary, purpose of visit to Thailand, name of the company/organization in Thailand that the applicant is going to conduct business with (in case of applying for multiple entries, please state clearly that reason of requesting a multiple entries visa or writing a trip plan for multiple entries within one year)
  • An evidence that showing the applicant is the owner and payment for buying Condominium at least 3 million Baht
  • Or an evidence of buying government bond at least 3 million Baht
  • A copy of Bank Statement of the applicant showing of current balance in 6 months in the past not less than 155,000 SEK (500,000 baht)

VISA FEE

  • 700 SEK for single entry
  • 1750 SEK for multiple entries
  • Visa fee paid in CASH ONLY when submitting the application.
  • Visa fee may be changed without prior notice
