Ambassador and Mr. Roongroth Rangsiyopash, the President and the CEO of Siam Cement Group (SCG) welcomed and discussed with Thai students at the ambassador’s residence

On May 30th, 2022, Ambassador Kanchana Patarachoke, together with Mr. Roongroth Rangsiyopash, the President and the CEO of Siam Cement Group (SCG), and his executive team, welcomed and discussed with Thai students at the ambassador’s residence. These students study in various fields such as science, technology, engineering, nanotechnology, physics, mathematics, cement, and political science, studying bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees at various Swedish universities such as KTH, Stockholm University, Stockholm School of Economics, Uppsala University, Linkoping University, Luleå University of Technology, and Halmstad University.

It was a great opportunity for the Thai students, the Embassy’s officials, and the SCG executives to exchange ideas on issues related to the students’ interest and to their research fields, as well as the opportunity to work with SCG. The Embassy also presents the newly established Thailand-Nordic Innovation Unit (TNIU) initiated by the Thai Embassy in the Nordic countries to promote innovation and technology cooperation between Thailand and the Nordic countries and shares the views on the possibility for Thai students to have their contributions in the unit.

It is great to learn that an increasing number of Thai students has chosen Sweden as their study and research destination and that their knowledge will contribute to the Thai society and the world. Of course, we hope to welcome more Swedish students and researchers in Thailand too
