On 25 February 2025, Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys and the Team Thailand in Stockholm, comprising the Office of the Defense Attaché, the Thailand Board of Investment, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and officials from the Royal Thai Embassy, visited the Ericsson Imagine Studio at Ericsson, Sweden. They were welcomed by Mr. Peter Borjesson, Vice President of Government & Industry Relations, Thailand; Mr. Lars Sundberg, Global Business Development Director; and Mr. Jan Tezcanli, Head of Ericsson Imagine Studio.
The company representatives gave a presentation on the history, current status, and role of Ericsson in Thailand. They also highlighted the role of technology as an essential infrastructure for digital transformation across various activities and industries, including public, business, and personal sectors. This was particularly emphasized in the context of dedicated communication networks that are highly reliant on communication, such as utility management, medical services, and personal transportation.
During the visit, the Ambassador and the delegation engaged in discussions and exchanged views with Ericsson representatives on various topics, including the competitive landscape of telecommunications research and development, governance in technology development, and the company’s vision for contributing to human resource development in Thailand. Following the meeting, the company representatives led the Ambassador and the delegation on a tour of the demonstration area, showcasing the application of 5G technology in various industrial settings, such as manufacturing, port management, disaster relief, and emergency response.
