Ambassador of Thailand to Stockholm Discusses Cooperation with OAG, DSI, and Swedish Police to Combat Human Trafficking of Thai Workers
On 27 March 2026, Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys hosted a consultative meeting at the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm. The meeting brought together a Thai delegation from the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), led by Deputy Attorney General Jatuporn Saenghiran, and representatives from the Swedish Police Authority, led by Ms. Janna Davidson, National Rapporteur on Human Trafficking at the National Operations Department. Minister Counsellor Pittara Navarat also attended the discussion.
The primary objective of the meeting was to strengthen the cooperative network between Thai and Swedish government agencies in preventing and suppressing the trafficking of Thai labor in Sweden. Both parties engaged in an exchange of information, practical experiences, and strategic visions regarding anti-trafficking measures.
During the discussion, Ambassador emphasized the Embassy’s core mission to protect Thai nationals and workers in Sweden and shared with the delegation Embassy’s works and activities in combating human trafficking. She specifically highlighted the welfare of wild berry pickers and Thai massage practitioners, reaffirming the Embassy’s commitment to ongoing operations and support in these sectors.
