Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden Pays Farewell Call on State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Sweden

On 14 September 2026, H.E. Ms. Arunrung Phothong Humphreys, Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden, paid a farewell call on Mr. Dag Hartelius, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, on the occasion of the completion of her tenure.

On this occasion, the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs expressed his appreciation to the Ambassador for her dedicated efforts to further strengthen and deepen Thailand–Sweden relations across all dimensions, particularly the elevation of Thailand–Sweden relations to a strategic partnership, defence cooperation, and, importantly, the visit to Sweden by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand on the occasion of the 80th birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.

The Ambassador, for her part, expressed her deep appreciation for the opportunity to have served in Sweden and reaffirmed the close cooperation between Thailand and Sweden, particularly in the areas of innovation, forestry, trade, and investment. The two sides also exchanged views on the European Union’s Indo-Pacific cooperation strategy, as well as bilateral and multilateral cooperation in areas including security, negotiations on Thailand-Eu Free Trade Agreement, Sweden’s accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), which has received Thailand’s support, and Thailand’s accession to the OECD, which has likewise received strong support from Sweden.
