Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden presented the letters of Credence to President of the Republic of Latvia for making her fully accredited to Latvia.

          On 8 June 2021, Ambassador Kanchana Patarachoke presented via a video call the Letters of Credence to His Excellency Egils Levits, President of the Republic of Latvia, making her fully accredited to Latvia. On this occasion, the President of Latvia conveyed his best wishes to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and to the people of Thailand. The President also wishes to see enhanced relations between the two countries in trade, investment, tourism, academic and student exchanges, as well as knowledge sharing in various fields.

          Thailand and Latvia established diplomatic relations on 19 March 1992. Latvia is Thailand’s most important trading partners in the Baltic. Approximately 10,000 Latvians travel to Thailand each year despite only about 2 million population. Latvia is a member to the EU and ranks high on UNDP’s Human Development Report 2020 as number 37. Ambassador Kanchana Patarachoke pledged to work actively to strengthen the relations between the two countries.
