Ep 3: Collaboration on Sustainable Forestry and Forestry Innovation

          Today (30 August 2023), Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys led the Thai delegation from public /private sectors and academic institutions relating to Thai forest structure management to Falun, in Dalarna county, located about 3 hours from Stockholm, one of the most prominent areas in Sweden regarding sustainable forestry.

          Today’s first activity, the delegation went to see the wood processing technology for wooden building structures at Dalahusgruppen. They were also given a briefing by Mr. Andreas Vestlund, Director Wood business, Byggpartnergruppen AB and Mr. Mattias Brännström, Director R&D Wood technology, Dalahusgruppen AB.

          In the afternoon, the delegation attended a briefing by Mr. Magnus Emilsson, CEO of Limträteknik AB, an expert in wood building engineering, followed by a visit to Ecodatacenter.

          In the evening, Ambassador Arunrung hosted a dinner for the delegation, as well as the local wood building leaders and pioneers in Falun. This provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange experiences and create networks.
