Songkran Festival at Wat Buddharam in Värmdö, Sweden

On 18 April 2026, Ambassador Arunrung Photong Humphreys, together with Counsellor Nattamon Punbhochar (Consul), and Ms. Nuanphan Mahasarakul, Mrs. Onanong Eriksson, and Ms. Pinlak Ketchom, local staffs of the Royal Thai Embassy, attended the Songkran Festival at Wat Buddharam in Värmdö, Sweden, alongside members of the Thai community in Sweden, who gathered to preserve Thai traditions and support Buddhism.

On this occasion, the Ambassador met with members of the Thai community and introduced the Consul and local staffs of the Embassy to the community. The event was warm and friendly, with activities including singing and Thai traditional dance and music performances.

The event included Buddhist chanting, merit-making and alms-giving, the ceremonial pouring of water over Buddha images, and the traditional water-pouring rite to pay respect to elders. The Ambassador also presided over the communal robe offering ceremony (Pha Pa Samakkhi) and visited Thai food stalls and other activities within the temple grounds, reflecting the strength and cooperation of the Thai community in Sweden.
