The 26th meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Stockholm (ACS).

          On 26 October 2022, Ambassador Kanchana Patarachoke and Counsellor Surada Monatrakul attended the 26th meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Stockholm (ACS). ACS comprises Ambassadors of ASEAN Member states with embassies in Stockholm, namely Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Each ambassador takes rotating chairmanship for 6 months. The current ACS Chair is Indonesia. Thailand served as ACS Chair during the first half of 2021.

          ACS has been active and over the months of July-October and has organized a number of activities such as ASEAN Day Reception, meetings with Ambassadors of Dialogue Partner countries, a study visit to Retuna in Eskilstuna, a study visit to Gothenburg during 4-5 October which allowed the ACS to call on Mayor of Gothenburg, Governor of Västra Götaland, executives of Business Region Gothenburg, visit to Volvo Group, Volvo Car, and Lindholmen Science Park. The ACS also met with Singapore’s non-resident ambassador to Sweden this month.

          ASEAN is a market of over 650 million consumers, with steady economic growth and serves as a key market for trade and investment from Sweden. In #Thailand there are currently over 100 #Swedish companies operating in industry, services and sales of consumer products.
