The meeting with the President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Swedish Parliament.

          On 24 May 2023, Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys paid a courtesy call on Mr. Aron Emilsson, President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Swedish Parliament.

          The two sides exchanged views on the longstanding relations between Thailand and Sweden, which are built upon the close ties between the two countries’ royal families and peoples. Other issues discussed include the embassy’s priorities in the protection of Thai nationals in Sweden especially Thai women working in massage salons and Thai berry pickers, and strengthening of security, trade and investment cooperation. They also discussed Sweden’s presidency of the European Council and its roles in the Indo-Pacific region, collaboration on innovation and sustainability, and results of the General Elections in Thailand and future parliamentary exchanges.
