On 2 December 2022, the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm organized a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, and Thailand’s Father’s Day at the Royal Park Hotel, Stockholm. The attendees include H.E. Mr. Niclas Kvarnström, Head of the Asia-Pacific Department, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, diplomatic corps, Swedish authorities, and business sectors, counterparts of the Embassy and Team Thailand agencies. H.E. Mr. Niclas Kvarnström and Ambassador Kanchana Patarachoke gave opening remarks, highlighting the close and cordial relations between the two countries and peoples. There also were an exhibition on the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, traditional Thai dancing performances by 7-year-old Mantida Poonkaew Lenell from Vesteras and her team, the motion pictures recorded by Mr. Mats Werner and photos from His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great’s royal visit to Sweden in 1960, clips of Thailand’s candidature to host specialized EXPO in 2028 and tourism in Thailand. There was a Monteaco tea sampling booth, showcasing tea products from forest in Maehongson, Chiangmai and Chiangrai.
Chef Jib, Supakorn Khumsimek, from the residence of the Ambassador provided a variety of delicious and beautiful Thai dishes. There was also a photo-taking corner featuring the Emerald Buddha Temple and the Grand Palace for guests to capture their beautiful memories. The beauty and warmth of the Thai culture and hospitality were genuinely felt by all.
