To mark the occasion of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej Memorial Day on 13 October, The Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand participate in the Buddhist ceremony and perform a memorial candle lighting ceremony.

          On 12 October 2021, to mark the occasion of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej Memorial (King Rama IX) Day on 13 October, Ambassador Kanchana Patarachoke led Thai officials from the Embassy and Team Thailand in paying respect to King Rama IX and organized a Buddhist ceremony at the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm. In the afternoon, Ambassador Kanchana subsequently led the officials to Riddarholmen Church to place a wreath in front of King Rama IX’s Seraphim Coat of Arms, perform a memorial candle lighting ceremony, and hold a 89-second silence in tribute to His Majesty. King Rama IX received the Knight of Sweden Royal Order of the Seraphim on 5 April 1950.

          In her statement to express deepest gratitude to His Majesty, Ambassador Kanchana, on behalf of the Team Thailand, said “As servants of the Land, we pledge to follow Your Majesty’s guidance and aspiration to bring sustainable development, prosperity and happiness to the people of Thailand.”
