The Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm held an opening of the exhibition featuring photos from the royal visit to Sweden of the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Queen Sirikit (21-24 September 1960), at Gripsholm Castle.

On 20 September 2021, the Royal Thai Embassy held an opening of the exhibition featuring photos from the royal visit to Sweden of the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Queen Sirikit (21-24 September 1960), at Gripsholm Castle. The event was well attended by members of the Diplomatic Corps, dignitaries, and guests.

At the opening, a talk highlighting the common elements between the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and Lagom was given by Lola Akinmade Akerstrom, author of the book “Lagom : Swedish Secret of Living Well”. You may read an article on this topic by her at https://docs.google.com/…/1OdNHAAV5qjNqRF2lRNH…/edit

In addition to the photo exhibition, the Embassy has the honour to present the VDO interview of Mr. Mats Werner, a 16-year old boy back in 1960, who had opportunities to record some motion pictures of Their Majesties’ visit. Many participants today informed the Embassy that they had the opportunity to follow the news about the visit at the time and many had seen Their Majesties in person.           The photo exhibition will remain on display throughout the week in the Gustav III’s Salon or White Hall of the Gripsholm Castle during 20-24 September 2021. The Castle is located in Mariefred, about one hour by car from Stockholm.
