Updated measures on traveling to Thailand from 1 November 2021

 

 

 

Travelers who can be exempted from quarantine:

 

  • Thais, Swedish, Latvian, and foreigners residing in Sweden and Latvia with Residence Permit, who have been in Sweden or Latvia for not less than 21 days (In case the travers have been out from Sweden and Latvia, they must be back to Sweden and Latvia for not less than 21 days) and have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 not less than 14 days before departure to Thailand. (The date of the 2nd dose vaccination is counted as Day-0 and the next day is counted as Day-1)
  • Thais, Swedish, Latvian and foreigners residing in Sweden and Latvia with Residence Permit, who have been in Sweden or Latvia for not less than 21 days (In case the travelers have been out from Sweden and Latvia, they must be back to Sweden and Latvia for not less than 21 days) and have been infected by COVID-19 with 1 dose against COVID-19 for not less than 14 days before departure to Thailand. (The date of the 2nd dose vaccination is counted as Day-0 and the next day is counted as Day-1). The evidence of 1 dose vaccination against COVID-19, taken within 3 months after diagnosed with COVID-19 must be provided.
  • Thais with 2 doses against COVID-19 for not less than 14 days before departure to Thailand. (The date of the 2nd dose vaccination is counted as Day-0 and the next day is counted as Day-1), who travel from Thailand to Sweden or Latvia and stay in the countries for less than 21 days.

1. Procedures for travelers who are exempted from quarantine

 

  • Enter Thailand through international airports (Suvarnabhumi, Don Muang, Chiang-Mai, Phuket, Samui, U-Tapao, and Buriram (For Buriram, charter flights only).
  • Have evidence of full payment for SHA+ hotel booking or Alternative Quarantine (AQ) booking for 1 night. The travelers must take COVID-19 RT-PCR test on the date of arrival and wait in the hotel room for 1 day. After receiving a negative test result, the travelers can freely continue their journey.   • Have health insurance policy with coverage of not less than 50,000 USD for the whole period of stay in Thailand. (requirement for only Non-Thai passport holders). The health insurance can be purchased from https://covid19.tgia.org/
  • Must have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result within 72 hrs. before departure to Thailand (This applies to both Thai and foreign passport holders).
  • Register for “Thailand Pass” through tp.consular.go.th at least 7 days before the departure date. The travelers must fill in information and upload required documents in the system, in order to receive a “Thailand Pass QR code” to enter Thailand. The “Thailand Pass” system will be opened for registration from 1 November 2021. Those who plan to enter Thailand during 1-8 November 2021 are recommend to register for Certificate of Entry (COE) through coethailand.mfa.go.th within 31 October 2021.
  • Children under 12 years old with no vaccination are eligible to enter Thailand with the same condition as the parents/guardians, with whom they are traveling.
  • Travelers who previously book SHA+ or AQ hotels for 7 or 10 days are recommended to contact their hotels for refund of non-stay days.

 

2. Travelers with 2 doses against COVID-19 who are not in the criteria to be exempted from quarantine can enter Thailand with Sandbox programme and stay in Sandbox areas for 7 days. (List of Sandbox areas https://bit.ly/3m6KrIh)

 

Procedure for travelers enter Thailand with Sandbox Programme 

  • Enter Thailand through international airports (Suvarnabhumi, Don Muang, Chiang-Mai, Phuket. Samui, U-Tapao, and Buriram (For Buriram, charter flights only).
  • Have evidence of full payment for SHA+ hotel booking for 7 nights. The travelers must take COVID-19 RT PCR test twice during 7 days. After receiving a negative test result on the arrival date, the travelers can freely continue their journey within the permitted Sandbox areas. You can book a SHA+ hotel via the following links:

3. Travelers who have not been vaccinated or partially vaccinated are required to be in quarantine for 10 days in the Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotels.

Procedures for travellers who must be in 10-day quarantine

  • Enter Thailand through Suvarnabhumi Airport.
  • Have evidence of full payment for AQ hotel booking for 10 nights. The travelers must take COVID-19 RT PCR test twice during 10 days. You can book AQ hotel via the following links:
