On 17 January 2023, H.E. Mrs. Arunrung Phothong Humphreys, Ambasssador-Designate, and Mr. Donrawee Waranon, Counsellor, attended the 27th meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Stockholm (ACS).
The meeting discussed the outcome of ACS’s activities for the second semester of 2022 such as the discussions with ASEAN Dialogue Partner countries’ ambassadors, the study visit to ReTuna, the world’s first recycling mall to prove the concept of circular economy, a study visit to Gothenburg, the ASEAN Day Reception, and the visit to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).
This year’s activities, such as the plan of the ACS to pay courtesy calls on high-level officials/representatives ranging from state agencies, private sectors, and ambassadors in Sweden, ASEAN Trade and Food Fair and ASEAN Family Day, were also discussed.
In today’s meeting, the Indonesian Ambassador handed over the chairmanship to the Laotian Ambassador (January to June 2023).
ACS comprises Ambassadors of ASEAN Member States to Sweden and having their respective embassies in Stockholm, namely Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. The ACS chairmanship is a six-month rotating term.
