Please note the following:

  • Swedish or Latvian passport holders are exempted from a visa if they plan to stay in Thailand for less than 30 days.
  • Passport holders from the following countries/territory are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period not exceeding 30 days on each visit:

  • When submitting an application online, your name must be in the order as it appears on your passport. Special characters such as Å, Ä and Ö must be put as AA, AE and OE. Failure to do so will result in your application being rejected.
    Ex. If your name is Kåre Björknäs, your name must be spelled KAARE BJOERKNAES

  • The applicant must have a current residency in Sweden or Latvia. Swedish or Latvian passport holders residing in other countries must apply for a visa at the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General in their respective countries.

Effective from 27 September 2021, a foreign national, with a residence in Sweden and Latvia, who wishes to apply for a Thai visa must apply and submit his/her application through the new online e-Visa platform at https//:thaievisa.go.th Please note that it is no longer required for the applicant to submit his/her passport and original supporting documents in person at the Royal Thai Embassy, Stockholm.

After the e-Visa application has been approved, a confirmed e-mail will be sent to applicants. It is kindly requested to print a copy of the confirmation e-mail to present to the airline and Thai immigration officials to carry out checks when travelling to Thailand.
