The Origins of Phuan People

“The Origins of Phuan People” is designed to present the story of making textiles by Phuan people from Baan Thung Hong Village in Phrae Province which has been around for 100 years. It is also the origins of the local wisdom that has continued to the present day.

Technique: The art piece was created by a mixed techniques between textile, painting and the use of pieces of leftover fabrics and home grown cottons to add more value for the products and use the most of the materials. There is also a teak attached into the fabric to represent the identity of Phrae Province, as well known by the slogan of the province “The Teak Mo Hom”

It took 16 days to finish this piece of art.
