The Diplomatic tour by the Latvian Foreign Ministry.

          On 28/9/22 – Ambassador Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Latvia, joined a group of Ambassadors of over 30 countries and spouses in the diplomatic tour to Kurzeme region, organized by the Latvian Foreign Ministry. The Group went to Saldus, Liepāja and Alsunga and got to learn about history, culture, and economy of the Kurzeme region. On 29/9/22 – Ambassador met with Mr. Nils Jansons, DG of Bilateral Relations Directorate, at Latvian MFA. Both bilateral and multilateral issues were extensively discussed. Subsequently she had a working lunch with Ms. Samija Serifa – Director of the Second Bilateral Relations Department.

          Thailand and Latvia enjoyed longstanding relationship since Siam’s de jure recognition of the Latvian Republic in 1921. Thailand was one of the first countries to officially recognize the Republic of Latvia following the establishment of the Latvian state on 18 November 1918. The Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm also covers the relations between Latvia and Thailand. The year 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
