The meeting between The Royal Thai Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia.

On 22-23 April 2022, Ms. Thanida Menasavet, Minister Counsellor, Ms. Surada Monatrakul, Counsellor and Mr. Alexander Vonsensay, an Embassy staff, met with colleagues from Second Bilateral Relations Department and Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia. They also met with Information Centre for Newcomers Head and representatives of the Thai community in Latvia.

During a meeting with Ms. Samija Šerifa, Director of Second Bilateral Relations Department, Ms. Ligita Davidova, Head of Asia-Oceania Division, and Mr. Henrijs Dzelme, Desk Officer at Asia and Oceania Division, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen the bilateral relations between Thailand and Latvia, situation in Ukraine and protection of Thai nationals in Latvia.

The Embassy discussed with Ms. Agnese Salina, Director of Consular Department and Ms. Leva Sile, Counsellor at the Consular Assistance Division, protection of Thai nationals in Latvia, especially in case of emergency, and protection of Latvian nationals in Thailand.

The Embassy also learned about many different projects to assist foreign nationals integrate into Latvian society during a meeting with Ms. Gunta Viksne, Head of the Information Centre for Newcomers.

On 23 April 2022, the Embassy met with representatives of the Thai community in Latvia who have been active members of Latvian society, some of whom have lived in the country for almost 20 years.
